# Teleoperation Recording

> Record a running teleoperation session with wuji record teleop, review recording history, and export a recording in a support bundle

`wuji record teleop` records a running Wuji Glove → Wuji Hand 2 teleoperation session into an MCAP file for offline replay and analysis. The recorder attaches read-only to the shared sessions the teleoperation program already holds. It never sends control commands and never takes over a device.

Start the teleoperation program first, then run the recording command in a second terminal.

## Record a Teleoperation Session

```bash theme={null}
wuji record teleop                                       # Auto-select the one active pair
wuji record teleop --glove <GLOVE_SN> --hand <HAND_SN>   # Name the pair when several devices are active
```

| Option | Description |
| - | - |
| `--glove <SN>` | Wuji Glove serial number, auto-selected when only one is active |
| `--hand <SN>` | Wuji Hand 2 serial number, auto-selected when only one is active |

The recording holds a fixed teleoperation channel preset: `emf_poses` and `hand_skeleton` from the Wuji Glove, global `tf` and `tf_static`, `joint_command` and `joint_states` from the Wuji Hand 2, plus `joint_diagnostics` when it's available.

## Stop a Recording

Press `Ctrl+C` once, then wait for the final result. The CLI saves the recording locally, and the teleoperation program keeps running.

Don't force-quit the command while the recording finalizes, or the recording may be incomplete.

A final recording status of `partial` means the recording has missing data or another problem. Use the warnings in the output to decide whether to record again.

## Output Formats

The default output shows progress during the recording and reports status, duration, file size, and output path when it finishes. A successful recording also lists the follow-up commands for reviewing and exporting recordings.

`--json` emits only the final result. `--jsonl` emits the events during the recording and the final result, one per line.

## Review Recording History

```bash theme={null}
wuji record list              # List every recording
wuji record list --days 7     # List recordings started in the last seven days
wuji record list --json
```

| Option | Description |
| - | - |
| `--days <n>` | List recordings started in the last n days, from 1 to 36500 |

## Export a Recording

Date filtering never pulls a recording into a support bundle. Select each one explicitly with the repeatable `--recording` flag:

```bash theme={null}
wuji logs export --recording <RUN_ID> -o support.zip
```

Take `RUN_ID` from the output of `wuji record list`. Pass `--recording` several times to export several recordings at once. For the rest of the bundle, see [Log Export](/en/docs/wuji-cli/logs).

## Storage and Privacy

Each run is stored under `~/.wuji/recordings/<RUN_ID>/` as `manifest.json` and `recording.mcap`.

The MCAP and its manifest hold raw motion and control data. The files stay on your machine until you export or share them.

## Common Errors

| Message | What to do |
| - | - |
| `no active teleoperation session found` | Start teleoperation, then confirm both devices appear in `wuji devices` |
| `multiple ... devices found` | Pass both `--glove <SN>` and `--hand <SN>` |
| `failed to attach` | Confirm the teleoperation program enables device sharing. Don't close it to let the recorder take ownership |
| A required channel is unavailable | Check that the teleoperation program, device firmware, SDK user profile, and hand model match the teleoperation setup |
