# Studio Migration Guide

> Export data from Studio, import it into the CLI, and find the matching commands and documentation.

Wuji Studio is no longer maintained as of 2026-09-14, and v2026.9.14 is the final release. Studio no longer receives feature updates or device support. Use [Wuji CLI](/en/docs/wuji-cli) or [Wuji SDK](/en/docs/wuji-sdk) for device discovery, visualization, calibration, and firmware upgrades.

Migration requires Wuji CLI v2026.9.14 or later. See [Getting Started](/en/docs/wuji-cli/getting-started) for installation and updates.

## Migrate Your Data

* **Export your data from Studio first.** In the desktop version of Studio, switch to the named profile you want to migrate (not Default). Open the user avatar menu → **User data** → **Export Data…**, and save the ZIP file.

* **Move the ZIP to the computer running the CLI.** Copy the exported file when switching computers, or use the existing file on the same computer. If the CLI is not installed, follow the [installation instructions](https://github.com/wuji-technology/wuji-cli#installation).

* **Preview and import in the CLI.**<br />`wuji user import <ZIP_PATH> --as <NEW_USERNAME>`<br />Replace the placeholders with the actual file path and an unused username. The command shows a preview before asking you to confirm the import into the new profile.

* **Check the imported data.** Run `wuji user show` to inspect the user and calibration data. For skipped or missing items, follow [Users and Calibration Data](/en/docs/wuji-cli/user).

For details, see [Studio data export](/en/docs/wuji-studio/basic-settings#export-and-import-data) and [CLI data import](/en/docs/wuji-cli/user). For recordings, see [Recording Files](#recording-files).

The CLI also provides `wuji doctor` to check the host environment, device connections, and supported device faults. See [Health Diagnostics](/en/docs/wuji-cli/doctor).

## Installed Studio

An installed Wuji Studio still opens, and its existing features keep working. Studio no longer receives updates. User profiles and calibration data remain exportable through [Migrate Your Data](#migrate-your-data) for import into the CLI.

## Recording Files

MCAP recordings are not included in the user-data ZIP. Studio saves recordings to `Documents/WujiStudio/recordings/` by default, or to the folder set in the Studio settings. To keep them, copy them from that folder separately. See [Studio data recording](/en/docs/wuji-studio/visualization/recording) for details.

CLI recording is currently limited to running Wuji Glove → Wuji Hand 2 teleoperation sessions. Start the teleoperation program first, then run `wuji record teleop` to record the fixed set of teleoperation channels.

On the CLI side, teleoperation recordings live under `~/.wuji/recordings/<RUN_ID>/`. Run `wuji record list` to review the recording history, and run `wuji logs export --recording <RUN_ID>` to package a selected recording into a support bundle. See [Teleoperation Recording](/en/docs/wuji-cli/recording) and [Log Export](/en/docs/wuji-cli/logs).
